Applicants from industry and details on financial award

Hi,

I am wondering if research scientists(with doctoral degree) from Industry are eligible to apply? If yes, how does the use of the fellowship funds work? Is it paid directly to the applicant or the employer organization. Can you also kindly elaborate on the use of the fellowship award? Is there a specific breakdown, especially for industry applicants. What would constitute as "research -specific" uses. Salary support and research costs, etc? Or only research related costs? Thank you so much!

  • Yes, an applicant employed by industry is eligible to apply (see our Fellowship Rules for all of our eligibility requirements). However, please check with your organization if being a fellow is permitted.

If the applicant is selected as one of our fellows, the financial award will be paid directly to the organization. The award must be used for research specific purposes. We do not require you to break down expenditures, but please check with your organization if there are any expenditure requirements.

    Thanks for the question!
