Harmonizing Diverse Cohort Datasets

Working together with ADDI, Dementias Platform UK (DPUK) https://www.dementiasplatform.uk/ has a mission to democratize data access and facilitate the discovery and analysis of diverse, large population cohort and clinical datasets. The complexity and heterogeneity of data across these datasets is vast and for researchers, the task of initial cohort discovery is sometimes quite daunting.

Together, ADDI and DPUK have identified a core set of 124 variables representing a broad interest, research area for neurodegenerative disease. Representative variables were identified across four diverse DPUK population cohorts and established harmonisation strategies were proposed to optimise inclusivity. For most of the variables (93%), the harmonised data schema demonstrated feasibility and utility for data discovery.
